Dry Needling in Houston, TXDry needling is a safe and effective treatment for painful muscle tension.

Bear Creek Chiropractic Clinic believes in time-tested natural methods to alleviate pain and discomfort. Dry needling is one such approach for eliminating painful muscle tension and is derived from the ancient practice of acupuncture.

Our chiropractor, the esteemed Dr. Boss, is well-qualified to offer this type of treatment and is a duly certified acupuncturist and experienced healing arts provider.

What is Dry Needling?

Many people are familiar with acupuncture, which involves the use of sterile needles strategically placed to penetrate the skin and treat a wide range of ailments. An ancient component of Eastern medicine, acupuncture has been in practice for thousands of years for pain relief.

Dry needling is a similar concept using less needles and generally taking less time to treat pain. Sometimes referred to as “trigger point” dry needling, this therapeutic procedure can be done right in the comfort of our Houston-area office. During a dry needling appointment, the technician will discuss areas that are tense or painful – particularly focusing on knotted areas in the muscle tissue.

Once the problem areas are identified, the technician will insert a solid needle gently – but directly – into the precise source of the pain. The purpose of this process is to stimulate muscle tissue and re-communicate the signals between the brain and the trigger point to eliminate pain all-together.
